Car Ride!

Well today I went to the doctor, she told me to come back in 6 months...guess she didn't find anything wrong with me again! She told me that I had lost more weight which is good, its our goal so I'm doing something right, go me! Bad thing is a 2 1/2 hour trip there and a 2 1/2 hour trip back so I was very tired when I got home even though I am not the drive...long story. But I didn't go to bed when I got home, instead I listed new items.

Yesterday I made 2 new items for you guys, a wonderful pink necklace and a BEAUTIFUL opalite necklace.

Here they both are but you can find them and many others listed in my shop, the link is at the top right where you see shop at PeachiesPasttime.

Today's feature is a bit different, the wonderful lady who I want to showcase has a wonderful job yet a hard job. Each month she gathers samples and then sends them to each person who buys a box, I am talking about Traci of Sampler Village, she is also one of the admin on Craft Cafe. She has the job of putting together each box of samples every month-except August, addressing them and sending them to all of us loving fans. Sampler Village is how I have found many of my new loves, like the pendant on the pink necklace above, or Sarah from Sugared Euphoria and even Robyn at Soapery Sweets who I am currently waiting on an order from. If you want to try out a bunch of new items give Sampler Village a try for a month, you never know what is inside! You can find them at https://www.facebook.com/SamplerVillage2 or http://samplervillage.com/  or http://www.craftcafe.co/shop/samplervillage/

I hope you check them out, I did and loved them! As always, I hope you enjoyed and I will see you tomorrow!

John

We had state inspections today, well we were supposed to. Each year our apartment complex has inspections from the company and the state, we got chosen last year for the state to come in, they pick a few random apartments and go in them and make sure everything is up to par, this year they skipped us. That was nice but we still cleaned our butts off for it...at least the place is nice and clean for when I leave next week!

I made a really nice necklace today, with beads from Tara and Tammy, I thank them both for sending them to me, they work well together and make a very fun item! It is shown above and I hope you enjoy it as well. I am trying to get back into making things, but I am not sure what I have left in me. I really want to do things with images but my printer is out of ink right now so I will have to wait...

Today my feature is on someone very special, well each person I feature is special, this person just goes above and beyond. His name is John. Born in Rwanda, he has witnessed a lot in his young life, including the massacre of his village. Living now as an adult in Uganda, he is getting the education he was deprived as a youth. He makes art, with whatever he has available to him,  paper, seed beads, seeds, barrel beads, shells, wood and stretchy cord. He cuts and dyes coconut, shells, beans, seeds, whatever is close at hand. John sees beauty and art in many things others never notice.  He has recently started using banana fiber. His 'mom' here stateside has seen his work and takes care of his funds for him, she can't believe that some of the things he uses are actually paper, his work is amazing and his faith in God is strong. If you are looking for something that is created with love, talent and care check out his facebook page...it is under construction but there are somethings up there already. You can find it @ https://www.facebook.com/FromUgandaWithLove

Here is a sample of some of his work. I love all of it and as soon as I am able to I know I will be getting something, I'm just not sure what! I know I love the bean bracelet though!

As always, I hope you enjoyed reading and I will see you tomorrow!

Skipped a Day!

I had every intention of writing yesterday after I finished downloading the newest patch for Warcraft...however once I got in and started playing I loved it so much it was midnight and I was half asleep before I knew it! Lets just say I am loving the new area so much more then the old areas! I need to let the rest of the patch load today though so I am going to finish cleaning when I am done writing and then I will play again tonight.

Have you ever bought something and forgotten about it? I did! I got some beads from Tammy, I featured her  a few days ago so you can find her link there, and when I checked my mail I had a packaged from her, I didn't remember getting anything so I was confused. I opened it and it all came back. I now have some wonderful pink crackle beads and opalite beads to work with, that might turn into something today as well.

I had planned to feature a wonderful shop yesterday so here it is for you today!

A woman of many talents, Heather @ Snow Bear Hobby Shop can create many things. From cards, to business card holders, to treat bag toppers to crocheted items, if you are looking for something exciting and unique you can find it here. My favorite item in her shop are her face scrubbies, she creates them using left over yarn from the wash clothes she makes...waste not want not I was always taught!...so you can having matching sets in your bathroom! But I bought 2 sets, one I use for my face and the other I use for nail polish removal, it works wonderful...even on glitter polish. If you are tired of using cotton balls and want something you can wash and reuse then check out her store, she has many color options! You can find her @ http://craftcafe.co/shop/snowbearhobbyshop/?category=2567

I hope you enjoyed reading today and I will see you tomorrow!

Exciting Day!

SO...today I miss my grandparents but I will see them next week so its okay! Not very creative today, I did my nails and tried a water marble but it didn't turn out very well...asking some friends to give me tips on it and hope it will turn out better next time! I started cleaning today, we have inspections coming up and I need to make sure everything is 100% perfect for them so they don't say anything bad! I will have to tidy up after the kids but I won't have to do major cleaning if I get it all done today.

It rained again, not surprised really but hey...at least I'm not in the path of Issac and in possible danger. I pray all the people in the path stay safe, I worry about my family and friends that are down there! As far as weather goes though, today wasn't to bad, some rain this morning and then a bit of sun and a tad bit of humidity. A typical NC day, lol.

I have came across a wonderful candle/tart maker, her creations are more like art then anything I have ever seen, if you don't believe me check out the collage I have put together for you!

I was going to include a picture but as I sat looking at her things I was in love with all of them! This is the work of Judy Armstrong @ Yummy Candle Creations. She makes amazing candles and tarts, as you can see many of which look like actual food. I think my favorite is the Caramel Apple Pie, it is the 3rd picture in the second row. If you want your house to smell amazing without all the work visit her @ https://www.facebook.com/YummyCandleCreations

I hope you enjoy reading and don't forget to pay her a visit, she has a great sale going on right now!

Today is amazing, I am making lunch/dinner for the best grandparents in the world! They should be in around 1-3...lol big time gap I know! Depends on traffic and potty calls. I am excited though, I haven't seen them since January and really miss them! The wait to see them won't be so long this time though, since they live in Georgia, only about 10 minutes from my aunt. In my crock-pot I have Cream of Chicken and Cream of Mushroom soup and 3 large chicken breasts, I will make the rice to go along with it when they get here and we get ready to eat. It smells good so I hope it is good.

The weather outside is nice, I really should go out and take some more pictures but I have to do homework and I told myself that school would always come first. Now its only math so its not hard but it still comes first! Oh, good news, I sold a necklace set yesterday! My disco dancin' set, I was excited, as I always am with a sale but glad that one of my neighbors was also happy to purchase this item.

I really enjoy doing my features, it allows me to promote someone and give them 'facetime' that they might not normally get and it shows them that their hard work is paying off. Today I want to talk about someone I often go to in a time of need. She is my #1 bead supplier, Kathi. She has tried many different places when it comes to setting up shop so there is no telling where you may have seen her or crossed paths with her but right now she is on Facebook and Artfire. I love the selection she has and the customer service is topnotch. She makes sure she always has happy customers and leaves you wanting more! With each order she sends a small thank you gift, allowing you to try things with items you might not have purchased....she has done this to me several times and I end up placing an order within a few days of getting my original one! Check out some of the things she has for sale and maybe even place an order when you visit her @ http://www.artfire.com/ext/shop/studio/UniquelyYours12  and @ https://www.facebook.com/UniquelyYours12

Homework and Creation

Today is a day filled with homework and picture taking. I need to get my work done but keep putting it off, I seem to do that every week...but I always get it done. Oh well we will see what happens tonight, I just am not in the mood to do work, not sure why. I have the best 'grandparents' ever, I say that because they stepped in when my grandparents on my dads side both passed. They are both amazing people and I love them like they are blood. Today they are on the way here from Jersey bringing me Cannoli's from Carlos Bakery because I have been wanting some since I saw them on the show, I won't get them until tomorrow morning probably but they will still be divine!

Don't forget to stop in and check out the wonderful movie that stars the amazing Alexa Fiske and donate if you can. You will only be charged if they make their goal. Here is the link again!  http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1194490778/stillwater-lake

Today I want to talk about a kitty maker, sounds strange but shes awesome! Here is one she made for me, it is Naruto, an anime character.
Ricki @ Itty Bitty Kitties created this amazing kitty and she has done many others, one of my favorites is the Big Bang Theory collection that she created. Now she makes all sorts of kitties, ones dressed for each holiday and she can even do ones that match your kitties. You can visit her @ http://craftcafe.co/shop/ittybittykitties/  and

Rain Rain Go Away

Today it has been very wet outside, raining all day only stopping for a short time. There is a tropical storm down in the gulf but I shouldn't be getting that rain yet! Oh well, what better way to make pretty stuff then in the rain, it is soothing and helps me concentrate! Oh, and I have to get math homework done sometime! HA...

I am almost ready for my trip, I am excited I get to see my family but not happy that the reason I have to go is because I have sick family, good news is my aunt is doing better! I get to see my grandparents this weekend! SO excited for that, I miss them and can't wait for them to be in town. Another good thing about my trip is getting to see my cousin run, she decided she was going to do cross country....takes after me she said. Makes me smile when I think of my high school days.

I have many talented friends, some of which also have talented children. My dear friend Christine has 3 very talented children and one is getting ready to make a movie that will be premiered at the Richmond International Film Festival, they need support. Click this link and it will tell you more about the movie and what you can do to help! http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1194490778/stillwater-lake

The creator of these wonderful cupcakes is non other then Pammy Santiago @ H.M's Pretty Little Jewels. These are just a few of my favorite cupcakes that they created, I have a rainbow cupcake and hot pink and black sucker that I purchased from her and she currently is holding a few Christmas cupcakes for me until I get to my aunts house. She makes each one out of clay, attaches the eye ring while still went then adds a jump ring so you can add it to a necklace or bracelet. She also makes hair bows and jewelry herself. You can find all her amazing work @ https://www.facebook.com/HmsPrettyLittleJewels

Maybe tomorrow will be dry and I will be able to go outside but for today it is homework and pretties creation! Hope you enjoyed reading.

=^.^= MEOW=^.^=

Todays mission is a bit different. I want to talk about something that has been dear to me my whole life, cats. I have two very wonderful cats that look over me and can detect my seizures, in the past I have had wonderful cats that I just loved on. I have a friend and wonderful fellow crafter on Craft Cafe  is trying to help her grandson raise money for the shelter he works/volunteers at. Last summer he created a design and sent it in a band designer, having them make it for him and all money raised is being donated to the shelter to feed the hungry animals. You tell me another teenager who has a heart that big? I bought a band because I can't stand seeing hungry animals, if you are interested contact Tammy @ https://www.facebook.com/tammyjsbeadunique or https://www.facebook.com/tammysb.eadunique
Each band is $5, $2 for shipping and $3 to the shelter. Find the soft spot in our heart and give just a little to help the hungry babies.
Totoro says help the hungry kitties

Have you ever found that soap that you just had to have and couldn't live without? Well I have found 2 soap makers on Craft Cafe that I love! One makes a Fuzzy Navel that I just love and the other makes a Chamomile that works wonderfully for shaving. I am talking about Helene Tapp and Sarah Henson, I have now bought several times from both. Here is my break down from both stores.

*Helene and The Soothing Soul*
I have bought a few times from this store, I have gotten Coffee Peppermint, Man Soap in Werewolf with Oat added, and Lavender Boo Boo. I got the Chamomile as a gift on my last purchase when I ordered the Man soap. They all lather wonderfully and you can smell them before you even open the package, it is amazing. She colors the soap if you want or adds extra scent, I got extra added to my coffee soap. She has wonderful customer service. You can find her @ http://craftcafe.co/shop/thesoothingsoul/

*Sarah and Sugared Euphoria*
I have shopped twice now in this store. I received a sample of Fuzzy Navel in my box from Sampler Village and fell in love with the scent and the soap, so I found her on facebook. I ordered the full size bar and she sent with it all sorts of goodies, I got 3 or 4 different samples of bath bombs and while they all smelled nice I had to give them to others since we have no tub but they enjoyed them! She has samples of one of her new falls soaps posted right now so I had to try that. I am sure I will enjoy it as much as the other soap from her shop! You can find her @  http://craftcafe.co/shop/sugaredeuphoria/

**Remember support the kitties and enjoy the wonderful soap makers!**

What to do when you are tired?

Last night I was working on a custom order, that set of 5 necklaces I have talked about, and my hand slipped and beads went everywhere...not just all over my desk but all over my living room and probably my kitchen as well. I knew I shouldn't have been working on it since I was tired and the beads weren't cooperating but I am trying to get all but one done before my trip. I found most of the beads, with aid from my cats, and got busy again...this time not dropping them everywhere! The finished product came out wonderful!

The hardest part for me is naming the items and coming up with the description. I can make it and talk about it all day but it is hard to put that to words on a computer screen! I often have my friends help me when it comes to item names, such as the memory wire bracelet I have listed right now, I had a friend help me name that. If they come up with the name they can also be funny and decide they want a portion of the sales....I have great friends that are willing to help with almost anything!

Today's feature is someone who also features others. Each week Linda Searcy features several members of craft cafe in her Thursday blog. She posts a topic for us and we will give her a link of another shop, why we like that item and the link for our shop. I think this is a great way to get the word out there about other shops because it is kinda like double coverage. She came up with this stunning idea last week and it was a hit! You can visit her @ http://craftcafe.co/shop/lindasearcyjewelrydesigns/
You can also read her blog and find out who is being featured each week and what she has to say @ http://lindasearcyjewelrydesigns.blogspot.com/

Today will bring a sale!

I decided to have a buy one get one half off sale today, lasting until midnight tomorrow, it includes custom orders. I hope this will drum up some sales since it has been rather slow in my neck of the woods lately...we will see what happens though...do people really want to take advantage of these great deals?

I am working on getting some Halloween and Christmas charms from Pammy, a wonderful clay charm maker~I can't wait to make things with her stuff! I will post those when they are done, I'm sure they will be amazing. I'm wondering right now how I will get things done while I am gone and in Georgia but I think I will be able to swing it, I will just figure out a way, where there is a will there is a way!

I finished a necklace that has 2 sets of earrings yesterday and have to list that and a bracelet, I will get that done today. I am coming down to the deadline on when I want to have my custom order done as well, I wanted it done before I left for Georgia which is September 6th...I hope to have the final two necklaces done this week. So much to do with so little time but it will get done!

Today I want to talk about Jeana Davis a The Sweets Fairy Bakeshop. I ordered cookies from there, chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin, and peanut butter with Hershey kisses....She had a sale going, she almost always does because she is amazing, and gave me a sample of her cake pops, butter cream icing and popcorn drizzled with chocolate and caramel. It was all simply amazing and I'm not sure what I enjoyed most. I know the popcorn made a great breakfast and the icing was hard to put down! You can visit her @ http://craftcafe.co/shop/thesweetsfairybakeshop/

Thanks for reading today. Stop by tomorrow and see who I feature!

Fun times!

A new store calls for a new blog right? I set up my store on Craft Cafe a few months ago and have had a few sales, the customer service has been pretty good~they work hard to address any problems we may be having and try to keep copyright rules enforced. I have found that working on things while I am upset or stressed creates the best pieces, not sure why but the things come out amazing!

I enjoy custom orders, I am working on one right now, it is a set of 5 necklaces and earrings to match for a good friend of mine. She had planned to get one each payday but I had two finished last payday so she bought both, now to get something done since this week is payday...we will see!

The hard part right now is sales are down and everyone is being negative because of it, so what? Its summer vacation and people are spending time away from the computer and spending money on things other then pretty stuff online, our time will come. We just have to bear with the time, wait another month or so and we will have a good 4-5 months before the slow time hits again right? I hope so, I'm ready for it!

I have met a lot of good people in my line of work so far. I will feature one each time I write. Today I will talk about Tara, she is an amazing graphic designer who I love to get images from. She has been in business for herself for almost 15 years now and each day creates new work that still amazes me. Check out her sites @ http://www.etsy.com/people/graphicdesignbytara?ref=owner_profile_leftnav
@https://www.elance.com/s/graphicdesignbytara

I hope you have enjoyed this and I will try my best to be back tomorrow!
